There is speculation that Disney’s Inclusivity and Diversity team may be planning to remove the Native American sections of the ride's storyline. Starting January 27, 2024, the beloved attraction will temporarily close its doors to undergo a magical transformation into the all-new Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Disney Skyliner at Walt Disney World will be closing for a brief annual refurbishment in early 2024. The gondola transportation system will be closed January 16 through January 21 2024. The Skyliner connects Disney's Hollywood Studios and International Gateway at EPCOT to the following Disney Resort hotels: Disney's Art of Animation Resort.

Kali River Rapids takes guests on a water adventure through the fictional Chakranadi River in the lush jungles of Asia. The ride features a circular raft that can accommodate several passengers, and it takes them through turbulent waters, encountering waterfalls, geysers, and other thrilling elements. Riders are likely to get wet during the experience, so it's a popular choice, especially on hot days. Disney World will often schedule annual refurbishments during the winter season so guest can enjoy this attraction durning those very hot summer months.

The fan-favorite rollercoaster will close on January 8, 2024 through late summer 2024. Disney has confirmed that the closure is a routine refurbishment. Rumors of a ride re-theme have been circulating for several years, however no confirmation of ride changes have been confirmed.

Blizzard Beach water park has been closed since March for a seasonal refurbishment, leaving Typhoon Lagoon, Disney’s other water park, as the only one currently in operation at the resort. With Blizzard Beach returning next month, Typhoon will be closed for its own refurbishment starting Nov. 6 — a continuation of a practice since 2021 of Disney only having one water park open at a time.

The winter-themed Blizzard Beach will be open during the resort’s holiday season and offer themed experiences, including a meet-and-greet with Santa in his tropical attire. The park will also have peppermint shakes and cookie decorating for a limited time, as well as banana split- and s’mores-flavored churros.
